Frequently asked questions
The tuner isn’t picking up my instrument.
Grant microphone access in iOS Settings → Tuner → Microphone, play a single clear note, and keep background noise low. The screen turns green when the note is within a few cents of being in tune.
How do I change the reference pitch (A4)?
Open Settings inside the app. You can pick 432 / 440 / 442 / 443 Hz or step anywhere from 415 to 466 Hz. Your choice is saved on the device.
Does the app record or upload my audio?
No. Pitch is detected entirely on your device in real time; no audio is recorded or sent anywhere. See the privacy policy.
Are there ads or tracking?
None. No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no account. The only data that ever leaves the device is an anonymous crash report if the app crashes.
Which instruments does it tune?
It’s a chromatic tuner, so it works for any instrument — guitar, bass, violin, ukulele, wind and voice.
